The first edition of the Rivers of Literature Festival is now behind us
As a partner of the Olga Tokarczuk Foundation, DTP played its part in organising the first edition of the Rivers of Literature Festival. From 20 to 23 August, Zielona Góra and the surrounding area became a hub for literature, art, music and debate on the contemporary world. The event, organised by the Olga Tokarczuk Foundation – named after the Polish winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature – attracted local community and visitors from across Poland.
Digital Technology Poland, has been working with the Olga Tokarczuk Foundation for over a year. During this time, we also had the opportunity to meet and speak with the Nobel laureate, which led to our collaboration on the Rivers of Literature Festival as well. Its first edition took place in August this year in Zielona Góra and other towns in the Lubuskie region, a place particularly close to DTP, which is based in Zielona Góra. The festival’s four-day programme combined literary meetings and discussions with workshops, walks, artistic events and concerts. Writers, artists and other representatives of the cultural world as well as researchers, experts and commentators specialising in contemporary social issues were invited to take part.
As a partner of the Foundation, the DTP supported the organisation of the festival, and its employees were involved in its realisation. We also took part in the opening of the event, where Olga Tokarczuk read excerpts from her new novel, due to be published in October. The opening attracted a large audience, and while she was signing books, our team had the opportunity to exchange a few words with the Nobel laureate. Our commitment to working with the Foundation comes from the belief that innovation does not only come from technology.

We are delighted that, as a partner of the Olga Tokarczuk Foundation, we were able to be part of the first edition of the Rivers of Literature Festival and contribute to the creation of a new event on the region’s cultural map.
