The new algorithmic king is crowned! Jubilee Algorithmic Engagements and Software is COOL

Amazing few days are behind us! Digital Technology Poland is thrilled to share the fantastic success of our recent events: the epic finale of the 20th Anniversary Potyczki Algorytmiczne (Algorithmic Engagements) competition and the incredibly insightful Software is COOL conference, which took place on 23-24 May. Both were supported by the Honorary Patronage of the Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship, the President of the City of Zielona Góra, and Rector of the University of Zielona Góra, showing just how much our region values tech and innovation.

Potyczki Algorytmiczne: Two Decades of Brilliant Minds!
This year’s Potyczki Algorytmiczne was truly special, marking 20 years since it all began! As one of Poland’s longest-running and most respected programming contests, it always brings out the best. DTP hosted the final round right here in Zielona Góra for the fourth time. We saw some truly brilliant young algorithmic talents in action, showcasing incredible problem-solving skills. Adam Gąsienica-Samek became the Algorithmic Champion of 2025! The second was Kamil Dębowski, and the third place took Kacper Topolski. Congratulations!

Software is COOL: Fresh Insights and Future Talent!

Our Software is COOL conference, held on May 23rd, was the perfect addition to the coding showdowns. It was packed with valuable content from database construction and analysis to the latest in Artificial Intelligence. The conference featured some fantastic speakers, including dr Jakub Onufry Wojtaszczyk, who gave a thought-provoking talk on “Informatics, elections, tourism, I was accused of attempting to overthrow democracy,” and Paweł Borecki, who shared insights on “Artificial Intelligence in the Arena of Algorithms, rapid prototyping applications with Microsoft AI tools.”

“Scene for Youth” – the new part of the conference was dedicated to the bright high school students from Zielona Góra who are part of the unique “Championships in Algorithmics and Programming” program. They had a chance to meet and learn from Professor Krzysztof Diks, a true legend in Polish computer science and a long-time lecturer at the University of Warsaw. Professor Diks, a recipient of the prestigious Stanisław Lem Prize for his incredible 30+ years of fostering innovation and supporting young Polish talent in international informatics Olympiads, shared his wisdom. His brilliant students, Jakub Rożek and Kamil Szymczak – both winners of international programming Olympiads and academic world championships in team programming – also delivered inspiring talks.

A big thank you to all the participants, amazing speakers, dedicated organizers, and our wonderful patrons for making these events such a tremendous success. We’re already excited about continuing our mission to champion tech excellence and inspire the next wave of innovators! See you at Potyczki Algorytmiczne 2026!
